THE CHALLENGE

BYC had real momentum. Events were selling out, genuine community forming, and a message that resonated deeply with their audience. But their brand wasn't keeping up. The visual identity was inconsistent across platforms, the messaging wasn't clearly defined, and there was no website to anchor the community or house resources for members.

The competitor landscape made the problem even more urgent. After a full analysis of the pop-up yoga community space, one pattern became undeniable: everyone was just posting flyers. No storytelling, no consistent identity, no relationship building. Every competitor, including some very successful ones, was sitting on an enormous gap in the market.

ABOUT THE CLIENT

BLK Yoga Collective isn't a studio with four walls and a fixed address. It's a movement. Literally and figuratively. Founded out of a sincere passion for introducing health and wellness to the Black community, BYC curates travelling, communal experiences that combine yoga with connection, building the kind of third spaces where real relationships form and real change happens.

At the heart of everything they do is a belief that wellness shouldn't look one way or belong to one type of person. BYC meets their members where they are, helps them define what wellness means for their own lives, and keeps coming back to build something lasting.

CLIENT

before

The three objectives were clear: build a consistent visual identity that travels everywhere BYC goes, clarify the messaging so the brand speaks with one voice, and create a website that serves as a real home for the community.

From two creative directions presented, the client chose the bold & luxurious path; and it was the right call. Where the wellness space defaults to soft neutrals and muted tones, BLK Yoga Collective needed to own the room the moment they show up. The chosen direction is high contrast, unapologetically vibrant, and deliberately premium "IT girl energy" for a community of women who are already that.
